Nike Kobe 8 Protro 'Aqua'
WHITE/RADIANT EMERALD-WHITE FQ3549-101Kobe is the only player in NBA history to have two retired jerseys on the same team. He got there via unending focus on the game, and the Kobe 8 Protro "Aqua" is inspired by his off-season flow. Numbers 8, 24, and 2—the jerseys worn by Kobe and his daughter Gianna—repeat boldly in Radiant Green across the White mesh upper. The arched midfoot plate brings added support and stability, making the Kobe 8 Protro a mainstay at all levels of play. The design is finished off with an embroidered Swoosh, Kobe's signature, and his iconic "Sheath" logo (all in Radiant Green) to honor his legendary mindset and continuing legacy.
Soft Upper
When we originally released the Kobe 8 in December 2012, we used engineered mesh, a first in our history. We ran it back for the Kobe 8 Protro. It's soft and pliable, wrapping around your foot and conforming to its shape.
Cut and Move
Traditional herringbone traction at the forefoot and heel gives you squeaky court bite you can hear when making hard moves and cuts. It’s located where your foot is normally planted, giving you a secure grip. Diamond-esque shapes that resemble a snake's head run along the edge of the outsole into the heel. At the ball of the foot is a small pivot circle.
